La Respuesta

Tato Laviera, In Memoriam

This is La Respuesta magazine’s November 2013 edition, Vol. 1 No. 5. With immense honor and pride (and a touch of sadness) we dedicate this edition to the legendary Nuyorican / AmeRícan poet and playwright, Tato Laviera, who died on November 1, 2013 at the age of 63. In the words of a contributing writer, “Tato will be greatly missed by the many he met, worked with, or touched…. And yet, we can draw strength and joy from the fact that he is now in that Boricua pantheon, already busy writing, performing, and inspiring –because even there he is needed.” ¡Que Viva El Poeta!
